Tourism Quality Projects

Program status:

2011 round—Closed for applications (see Successful applicants).
2012 round—Closed for applications. Applications closed at 5pm on 19 April 2012.
2013 round—We anticipate that the next round of funding will open for applications early 2013.

About Tourism Quality Projects

T-QUAL Grants—Tourism Quality Projects offer matched funding from $15,000 (GST excl) up to $100,000 (GST excl) for smaller scale projects to lift the quality and variety of Australia's tourism experiences.

2012 T-QUAL Grants information

The T-QUAL Grants Information Sessions provide an overview of the program application processes that were used for 2012 T-QUAL Grants round.  There are five presentations available:

Applications lodged in the 2012 round

If you have lodged an application for the 2012 round:

  • you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application
  • your application will be assessed against the eligibility and selection criteria
  • the Department will be unable to provide you with advice on the status of your application during the assessment period
  • you will be advised in writing about the outcome of your application once assessments have been completed
  • an announcement of successful projects from the 2012 round will be made in the second half of 2012.

Timeline

Tourism Quality Projects is a four-year program which runs in calendar-year rounds.  

  • 2011 round—the 2011 round opened for applications on 7 February 2011 and closed on 15 April 2011. On Tuesday 26 July 2011, 117 successful applicants (see Successful applicants) for this round were announced by the Minister for Tourism, The Hon Martin Ferguson AM MP, with a total project value of approximately $8.5 million.

  • 2012 round—the 2012 round opened for applications on 17 February 2012 and applications closed at 5pm on 19 April 2012. An announcement of successful applicants will be made in the second half of 2012.
