2009–11 T-QUAL Grants projects

On Tuesday 15 December 2009, the Minister for Tourism, the Hon Martin Ferguson AM MP, announced the successful applications to be funded under the T-QUAL Grants program for 2009–11.

The 70 successful projects received funding worth a total of $8.283 million. A list (see Related documents) of these projects is available.

Australian Tourism Development Program

Prior to the introduction of the T-QUAL Grants program, AusIndustry delivered grants through the Australian Tourism Development Program (ATDP) on behalf of the Australian Government (see Related Documents).

The competitive merit-based ATDP offered grants over two years for tourism development projects ranging from $50,000 to $500,000.

Between 2004 and 2009, the Australian Government provided almost $30 million in support for 177 tourism projects across Australia through the Australian Tourism Development Program.

Evaluation of the Australian Tourism Development Program

In 2010, the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism conducted an evaluation of the ATDP.

A summary (see Related documents) has been prepared for key stakeholders which outlines the key findings and recommendations from the evaluation.
