The Australian Government’s goals in relation to liquid transport fuels are to foster the development of an internationally competitive downstream petroleum sector with a focus on developing appropriate fuel standards to facilitate the adoption of advanced emission control technologies.
The Department provides policy advice in relation to issues affecting the downstream petroleum industry and has policy responsibility for the Trade Practices (Industry Codes - Oilcode) Regulations 2006
