We have published the Assessment Handbook 
[PDF, 975KB] to help companies design and conduct a rigorous and comprehensive assessment of their energy use. This is a core requirement of the Energy Efficiency Opportunities program.
While the handbook is specifically designed to assist companies participating in the EEO program, it may also assist companies involved in other energy programs or those simply interested in improving their energy efficiency. The ultimate goal is for companies to add value to their business by improving their energy efficiency.
