The Registration Template
[DOC, 222KB] is designed to be used as a guide to help you provide the required information when registering for Energy Efficiency Opportunities. You should use it in conjunction with the Energy Efficiency Opportunities legislation and ensure you have met the legislative requirements.
Applications for registration — helpful hints
General advice
The important thing is that you tell us that your corporation used more than 0.5 PJ of energy in the previous financial year. Detailed energy use data at this stage is welcome but not mandatory, and we don’t want you to delay your registration while trying to gather accurate data.
You need to ensure you apply to register the correct controlling corporation. Generally this is the top level holding company in the group – the one that does not have a higher holding company incorporated in Australia.
Letter signed by CEO, equivalent officer or authorised representative
Your letter must state in what trigger year the corporate group used over 0.5 PJ. The trigger year should be the financial year prior to registration.
The example covering letter for registration in the original industry guidelines contains the sentence, "I declare that the information in our application for registration is true and correct." To satisfy the regulations, your application for registration must instead say:
The information included in this application is, to the best of my knowledge, correct and in accordance with the Energy Efficiency Opportunities Act 2006 and Energy Efficiency Opportunities Regulations 2006.
The Registration template is provided with the corrected sentence.
Your letter should be sent to us on company letterhead, rather than using the template on plain paper.
Part 1: Controlling corporation details
Ensure that you include the ABN of the controlling corporation.
At least one ANZSIC and GICS code for the controlling corporation is required. It would be valuable if you could include all ANZSIC and GICS codes that relate to the business.
Ensure that you use the 2006 ANZSIC codes
, rather than the older (1993) codes.
Part 2: Members of the controlling corporation’s group
You need to provide details of group members that you currently consider likely to be assessed. Group members include the controlling corporation, subsidiaries, joint ventures and partnerships (sites and business units are not group members).
It would be appreciated if you could include relevant ANZSIC and GICS codes for group members.
Corporate structure diagram
A corporate structure diagram is required. The diagram must include:
- the relationship between the controlling corporation and all group members that you consider likely to be assessed
- all sites using over 0.5 PJ.
