The following information will assist corporations in registering for Energy Efficiency Opportunities. More detailed information is published in the industry guidelines.

A registration template is available to assist corporations in providing the information required when registering for Energy Efficiency Opportunities.

The aims of registration are to:

  • provide the Department with a list of participating corporations, and the characteristics of corporate groups
  • enable the Department to communicate with participants about the program
  • create a public list of participants in the program.

Registration is required within nine months of the end of the financial year in which a corporate group first uses more than 0.5 petajoules of energy. For example corporations that are part of a group that used more than 0.5 petajoules of energy during 2005-06 must be registered for Energy Efficiency Opportunities by 31 March 2007.

Early registration is encouraged to enable participants to proceed with planning and conducting assessments as soon as possible.

Information to be made public

Some information supplied by corporations will be made publicly available on this website. The published information will include the names of registered controlling corporations, the names of their subsidiaries and joint ventures that are likely to be assessed and, over time, the program milestones that the corporations have reached and where to find participants’ public reports. Individual company or entity energy use information provided at registration and in the assessment and reporting schedule will not be placed on the public register.
