The ACRE Strategy

About the strategy

On 5 April 2011 the Australian Centre for Renewable Energy (ACRE) Board released Strategic Directions for ACRE.

This document provides a policy and funding strategy to support the development, commercialisation and deployment of renewable energy and enabling technologies.

Strategic Directions outlines the key initiatives that ACRE will undertake. It also articulates principles and technology priorities that will guide ACRE's funding support decisions as well as approaches that will be incorporated into the management of ACRE's programs and other activities.

Strategic Directions has been developed in consultation with industry associations, research organisations, investment and project developers, and members of the public with an interest in renewable energy.

The ACRE Board may periodically review the Strategic Directions to ensure that projects and measures to support renewable energy technology development in Australia are effective and responsive in addressing the energy security challenges facing Australia.
