About ACRE Projects
ACRE Projects is one of two categories of funding offered under the Emerging Renewables Program.
ACRE Projects funding supports renewable energy and enabling technologies and products as they move through the technology innovation chain, and projects that support renewable energy technology projects along the innovation chain.
How to apply for an ACRE Project
The application process for ACRE Projects is undertaken in two phases.
- phase one—applicants are asked to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
- phase two—selected EOI applicants that satisfy the merit criteria to a very high standard are invited to submit a Project Funding Application.
To submit an EOI, applicants must complete and submit the ACRE Project Expression of Interest (EOI) / ACRE Measure Application Form (see Related documents).
Please note: this form is a single combined-form used to apply for either category of funding under the Emerging Renewables Program. Applicants must select either ACRE Projects or ACRE Measures funding categories.
Prior to completing and submitting the form, applicants should:
- ensure they understand the requirements of the program by carefully reading the Emerging Renewables Program—Information Guide (see Related documents) and following the instructions. Applicants should consider whether they meet the eligibility criteria and the likelihood of their application being assessed against the merit criteria to a very high standard.
- Read the ACRE Project funding agreement template (see Related documents). Applicants will be required to acknowledge in submission that they have read this Funding Agreement template and agree with the general conditions.
How to complete and lodge an ACRE Projects EOI
To complete and lodge the EOI form for ACRE Projects, applicants should:
- Download the application form (see Related documents).
- Complete the applicant details and contact details sections.
- Select "Project" as the funding category option.
- Check that the merit criteria fields that appear after selecting the funding category require responses to ACRE Project merit criteria 'A' to 'G'.
- Complete the merit criteria section. Please use plain English, with clear, factual and concise responses.
- Complete the ACRE Emerging Renewables Budget and Funding Sources template (see Related documents).
- Submit the EOI following the instructions at the bottom of the form. This will generate an email with the EOI attached as an XML file. Attach the completed ACRE Emerging Renewables Budget and Funding Sources template to this auto-generated email. No other supporting documents are required at the EOI stage.
Applicants may 'Save and Close' the form at any time and return to it before submitting the completed version.
Phase 2—Project Funding Application
Applicants may be invited to submit an ACRE Project Application Form if their EOI has been assessed as having a sufficiently high standard. The lodgement of an EOI is mandatory to proceed to Phase 2.
Applicants that are invited to proceed to Phase 2, will be sent an application form with further information and feedback on the EOI assessment (see PHASE TWO EXAMPLE—ACRE Project Application form in Related documents for example). The form is pre-populated with the information the applicant provided in their EOI.
Please note: this document is provided as an example, and is for information only.
Further instructions for submitting the application will be provided to these selected applicants. As a guide, applicants must include:
- detailed responses to the merit criteria—responses should be made with regard to feedback from the assessment of the EOI and in accordance with the Phase 2 guidance under each Merit Criteria in the Information Guide.
- documents referred to in the Information guide—including a commercialisation plan, project plan, intellectual property plan, and draft risk management plan.
