International Engagement

The Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism provides policy advice on international energy matters to the Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism, the Hon Martin Ferguson MP. The Department works with industry and foreign governments to maximise export opportunities for Australia's energy commodities, products, technologies and services, and to enhance domestic and regional energy security.

Australia's participation in key multilateral and bilateral fora plays an important role in supporting economic prosperity and enhancing key objectives such as energy security. At a multilateral level, Australia's energy and minerals policy priorities are advanced through key fora, including:

Under Australia's bilateral cooperation (Internal Link: Resources Division) activities, Australia's energy and minerals priorities are pursued through the implementation of a high level dialogue program with major energy and minerals trading partners and other stakeholders.
