APEC Energy Trade and Investment Roundtable

The APEC Energy Trade and Investment Roundtable held 30 September - 2 October 2008 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, was a highly successful meeting, highlighting the importance that well functioning energy markets play in supporting economic growth and addressed the challenges of energy security and sustainable development throughout the APEC region.

The meeting built on outcomes and recommendations from the PricewaterhouseCoopers Study that identified, described and ranked 'at-border' and 'behind-the-border' barriers impacting on the trade and investment potential of regional energy markets.

The meeting was attended by energy, trade and investment experts from both government and industry sectors and guest speakers from a range of international organisations presented their views on energy trade and investment issues.

Roundtable documents include the APEC Energy Trade and Investment Study, draft Action Plan and presentations.
