Renewable Energy Development Initiative

The Renewable Energy Development Initiative was a competitive merit-based grants program delivered by AusIndustry to support the development of renewable energy technology products, processes or services that have strong early stage commercialisation and emissions reduction potential.

The Initiative provided matching grants from $50 000 up to a limit of $5 million for eligible renewable energy technology projects extending up to three years.

The Renewable Energy Development Initiative supported 29 projects with funding of $67 053 950. For further information on the Initiative's grant recipients please refer to the Renewable Energy Development Initiative.

The Renewable Energy Development Initiative finished on 28 April 2008. A number of new Government energy programs have been introduced to support renewable and clean energy development in Australia.
