To achieve this outcome the committee will develop a National Green Leasing framework and methodology that formalises the energy efficiency measures and environmentally sustainable obligations between lessor and lessee to ensure the building and tenancy energy performance under an agreed rating system.
The Steering Committee (with representatives from both GPG and NFEE) has engaged consultants to produce an Issues Paper and a Risk Analysis Paper that will inform the decision of a national policy approach by mid 2009. A detailed policy framework will be developed in 2009/2010 for consideration by governments. Consultations will be conducted at different stages of the program to seek inputs and contributions from stakeholders.
