The updated terms of reference and administrative arrangements were adopted in September 2007. These documents provide a comprehensive outline of the Forum's governance, work plan and expected outcomes.
A major issue of energy regulatory and market development is the reliability and security of electricity supply. This is vital in terms of maintaining economic strength and social standards. Ensuring a reliable and secure electricity supply involves a number of challenges that Partner countries face now and in the future.
At the inaugural Steering Committee Meeting on 30-31 August 2007, it was decided that the Forum would commission a consultant to undertake a desktop review of electricity reliability and security in APP countries. The objective of the review is to collect and analyse information from APP countries on reliability and security related issues. This analysis will provide a conceptual basis for further work on reliability and energy security matters by the Forum.
Work on the review was completed in early 2009 and is available for download below:
In addition to the Review above, the Forum developed an Information Report (Volume One) which was released in late 2008. The report comprised of data on energy market statistics, structures, institutions, regulatory arrangements and relevant climate change policies of APP countries.
The objective of the Information Report was to develop an information resource on energy market issues, relevant to the Forum's information sharing activities. Country reports were included from each Partner and a high-level overview of all information was provided.
An updated Information Report (Volume Two) was released at the 2nd ERMD Forum on 4-5 November 2010 in Sydney, Australia.
