The RET Vacation Program provides university students the opportunity to develop work experience within the Department and the wider Australian Public Service.
Employment is offered as a non-ongoing employee at the APS 2 level (Salary range $41,256 - $45,939 PA) for a period of up to three months during the summer break
Eligibility requirements for candidates applying for the vacation employee should include:
- having completed at least their first year of study
- working toward a degree of interest to RET
- a solid academic performance (for example, a credit average)
- Australian citizenship
- the capacity to obtain a protected security clearance.
